Web Pixel and Click Tracker
Trackful relies on two complementary components for complete tracking and reliable attribution: the Web Pixel and the Click Tracker. Here is how each one works and how to enable it.
The Web Pixel
The Web Pixel Extension is activated automatically as soon as you install Trackful. There is nothing for you to do.
It captures checkout and purchase events on the client side. These events are deduplicated against the server-side order webhook, which guarantees that no conversion is counted twice.
The Click Tracker
The Click Tracker is a theme app embed block that you enable yourself in the theme editor.
How to enable it
- In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes.
- Click Customize.
- Open the App embeds menu.
- Turn on the Trackful Click Tracker.
What it does
The Click Tracker captures ad click identifiers (gclid, fbclid, etc.) on your landing pages, then sets first-party server cookies (valid up to 1 year). Thanks to this, attribution survives Safari's ITP.
Why enable the Click Tracker
Enabling the Click Tracker is strongly recommended for the best possible attribution and a strong match quality on Meta: it captures the fbc and fbp cookies in particular.
